Quiddler Buy Bananagram Customer Reviews

Monopoly is fun, but it takes FOREVER to play, those trivia games are too hard for the kids, Dad can't even draw a stick figure, let alone play Pictionary, and you don't want to spend an hour just setting up an elaborate game and reading the instructions.
Buy Bananagrams

So what's the solution? Play QUIDDLER!! Our family loves this game - you can complete a whole game in an hour or less (or you could stop half-way through and finish the game the next evening). In Quiddler, you create words, but unlike Scrabble, it's not always the one with the best vocabulary who gets the most points. You try to make words out of all your letters - there might be a long word which gets lots of points, but it might be little brother over there who is able to make several short words who gets the "most words" bonus and jumps ahead of everyone else! Buy Bananagrams

We played this game last night and were surprised how fast things change - someone who is way ahead after the 3rd round can be behind after the 4th. Just one round can dramatically change things! Buy Bananagrams

Pick a dictionary and let that be your judge on whether or not something is a word. Be sure to find the dictionary BEFORE you start playing because you'll need it!

We've played this game with 4, 5, and 6 people. Anywhere from 1 to 8 people can play - now that's a versatile game! Buy Bananagrams

This is one game where a child isn't necessarily at a disadvantage when playing with adults.

The cards are beautiful - be sure to take time during your fun family evening to notice them!

After loving this game, I bought Set for Christmas and we're going to play this one tonight! ... .

this game is very easy to pick up and play right out of the box. Buy Bananagrams A total of eight hands are dealt which makes the game short and sweet. We play without a dictionary which is more fun. The players vote on whether we think a word is valid and majority rules. The game really bogs down with players constantly looking up words. The first person to be able to play their whole hand, with one card as a discard,Buy Bananagrams goes out and the rest of the players have one turn to put down as many words as possible. Points are scored based on letter value and some cards have more than one letter such as "qu" or "cl". You lose points for letters that can't be played. You cant play your cards on another players word. Highest score after 8 hands is the winner. Spelling and game usually don't go well together but this is a fun game for any age. I personally like Five crowns better. Buy Bananagrams

Editorial Review
The rules are brutal,
Buy Bananagram but the rewards are worth it in this card game that works a bit like Scrabble. Although there is a solitary version of the game for one player, you can play with up to eight. Cards containing letters of the alphabet and special combinations of letters are dealt in increasing number each time the dealer completes a round. Once you've collected your share, you can discard and pick up a new card with each turn. The object is to turn all the letters in your possession into dictionary-proof words while leaving one stray card as a final discard. You want to be the first to accomplish the goal, of course, but there is a scoring system that makes the play competitive for everyone. One nice element is the cards themselves: the letter design is based on beautiful artwork from Celtic manuscripts. This card game is a 1999 Parents' Choice Silver Award winner. --Tom Keogh Buy Bananagram

This is an interesting,Buy Bananagrams nicely short game that is portable and can be played anywhere in a few minutes. It's a refreshing change for anyone who likes the concept of crossword puzzles and word games but doesn't have time or the inclination to sit for hours to play a game. Bananagrams can be played quickly and it's a great way to pass time. It doesn't have a thick manual of complicated rules so you can get right in and play. I recommend it for any age, from children learning to read on up to adults. It's educational and fun at the same time. The plastic tiles come in a sturdy cloth banana peel with a zipper.Buy Bananagrams
We found out about bananagrams from a friend of ours. ever since that its been a big hit for our family. We bought the jumbo set, which is two bananas. When you combine the tiles it makes the pile bigger which creates a longer and more complex game. Its a little more challenging because you get twice the tiles and have to make a bigger crossword.
This is a very fun game. My daughter first played at school in her English class. She liked it so much she asked for it for her birthday. Everyone in our family enjoyed it. It's at least as much fun as Scrabble. We bought the double set so we can play either single or double. It will also be helpful if we play with the extended family.Buy Bananagrams

Customer Reviews Buy Bananagrams

This is a wonderful little take along game! Love the compactness of it. Have used it twice so far on camping trips. We have played the version where everybody competes with himself playing own game so that the 7 year old can enjoy the game as much as the adults. Less competitive but uses as much or more thinking and planning. I plan on taking it to Hawaii on a multigenerational family vacation.
Buy Bananagrams

Scrabble is great, and it is tough. Jumble or Boggle are also challenging and great but tough and takes time too. This word game, Banagram, has similarities to all the known word games out there, but it is quick, fast and easy. Any level can play and any level of education can WIN!!! Think you know all the big words??? Think you are smarter than the average bear??? Think you can do that jumble in less than 2 minutes???Buy Bananagrams Then I challenge you to play this with your friends and family. If you have a 10 year old or older child, then test your mettle, because once you play, they will enjoy winning! Fun, entertaining, all ages, you won't stop. Easy rules and easy to have a great time. Buy Bananagrams
As others have said, a bit like Scrabble, without the board and points.

I read the negative reviews and simply cannot identify with their criticisms... particularly that adults won't like it. My husband and I LOOOVE to play against each other and get quite competitive - glancing at each other's words to ensure correct spelling and propriety, speeding up, reworking existing words... In fact,
Buy Bananagrams we were introduced to this game by a group of older adults at a family summer camp. While the children played soccer, we sat at a table and raced to beat each other!

That said, my daughter loves the game, too, and she's learned quite a bit in playing. We always keep two dictionaries nearby - one that is current and Webster's 1812 - and if she has a question about a word, she asks and then uses it in a sentence.
Buy Bananagrams There are always opportunities to learn, for all of us!

My favorite way to play is on my own, with a timer. The possibilities are many.
Buy Bananagrams

Highly recommended!
We got this game recently and have played it about 5 times and really like it. I like crosswords, but I can't stand Scrabble because of the interminable waiting for other players to take their turns, and the focus on using the high-point letters and high-point squares instead of just the making of words. Buy Bananagrams

Bananagrams has the challenge of making words without any of those hassles: everybody plays at once, each game only takes a few minutes, you can rearrange your letters as much as you want to try to incorporate new letters, and you can turn in bad letters that have you stuck (with a penalty).
Buy Bananagrams

The other great feature is that it is one of the very few games that is fun for just two people to play, but can also be played by any number of people, up to 8.

Do you like Scrabble but get hung up trying to use those special point squares, are bummed when someone "steals your spot", or dragged down by Debbie Dictionary ("just let me look up this one word") or Slow Joe (who takes 20 minutes for each turn)? Well you would love Bananagrams, because it solves those problems. There are no special squares (or squares at all), no points on the letters (all are worth the same) and no time to dawdle.Buy Bananagrams You are instead rewarded for speed and flexibility in making your own crossword. You can completely pull apart your crossword and start from scratch if you need to or just swap out a letter here and there, but don't get caught with a bunch of spare letters when an opponent goes out! Buy Bananagrams

It is exciting and challenging to play this game with adults, but it can be fun to include the kids. You can easily adapt the rules to suit yourself. We "handicap" the adults by drawing two tiles for every one the kids draw.Buy Bananagrams You can play solitaire or have several players.

A similar game that I also love is Learning Resources' "Take Four". If you are the type who would prefer to have a grid to keep those tiles straight, or likes to have a few "jokers" thrown in, you might prefer this. But Banagrams is far more portable and much cheaper. I like both of these games so much (as well as the spelling card games Quiddler, My Word, and Tri-Virsity) that the old Scrabble board is gathering dust.Buy Bananagrams
