Customer Reviews Buy Bananagrams

This is a wonderful little take along game! Love the compactness of it. Have used it twice so far on camping trips. We have played the version where everybody competes with himself playing own game so that the 7 year old can enjoy the game as much as the adults. Less competitive but uses as much or more thinking and planning. I plan on taking it to Hawaii on a multigenerational family vacation.

Scrabble is great, and it is tough. Jumble or Boggle are also challenging and great but tough and takes time too. This word game, Banagram, has similarities to all the known word games out there, but it is quick, fast and easy. Any level can play and any level of education can WIN!!! Think you know all the big words??? Think you are smarter than the average bear??? Think you can do that jumble in less than 2 minutes???Buy Bananagrams Then I challenge you to play this with your friends and family. If you have a 10 year old or older child, then test your mettle, because once you play, they will enjoy winning! Fun, entertaining, all ages, you won't stop. Easy rules and easy to have a great time. As others have said, a bit like Scrabble, without the board and points.

I read the negative reviews and simply cannot identify with their criticisms... particularly that adults won't like it. My husband and I LOOOVE to play against each other and get quite competitive - glancing at each other's words to ensure correct spelling and propriety, speeding up, reworking existing words... In fact,
Buy Bananagrams we were introduced to this game by a group of older adults at a family summer camp. While the children played soccer, we sat at a table and raced to beat each other!

That said, my daughter loves the game, too, and she's learned quite a bit in playing. We always keep two dictionaries nearby - one that is current and Webster's 1812 - and if she has a question about a word, she asks and then uses it in a sentence.
Buy Bananagrams There are always opportunities to learn, for all of us!

My favorite way to play is on my own, with a timer. The possibilities are many.

Highly recommended!
We got this game recently and have played it about 5 times and really like it. I like crosswords, but I can't stand Scrabble because of the interminable waiting for other players to take their turns, and the focus on using the high-point letters and high-point squares instead of just the making of words. Bananagrams has the challenge of making words without any of those hassles: everybody plays at once, each game only takes a few minutes, you can rearrange your letters as much as you want to try to incorporate new letters, and you can turn in bad letters that have you stuck (with a penalty).

The other great feature is that it is one of the very few games that is fun for just two people to play, but can also be played by any number of people, up to 8.
